<TITLE> :
Make sure your site contains a
title tag, which is " <title>site name
& short description</title> " the
title tag is placed or found between <head>
and </head>. when a web user bookmarks or
saves your site to the favorites list, the
<title> tag is the description they see.
search engines review the content of the
<title> tag when registering your site, so be
very specific and avoid generic terms. Keep your
title short, simple & sweet. example : <title>Quickregister.net
- submit your site to popular search
engines for free!</title>
META DESCRIPTION
: Include your company name.
Include your industry or market. All meta tags
should be placed between <head> and
</head>. Use keywords and key phrases in your
descriptions. Do not exceed the 200 character limit
used by most search engines.
example : <meta name =
"description" content = "place your
site description here">
META KEYWORDS :
Use plurals for your keywords.
Search engines will process both the singular and
plural form, repeating both is not necessary. Avoid
word stuffing. Excessive repetition in the keywords
section of your <META> tags may cause your
search engine to penalize a site's placement, this
practice is view and search engine spam. Construct
your keyword list with commas separating the words.
When determining your list be sure to think like you
potential customer or visitor. What terms would they
use to find a site with the content, products or
services your site offers? A good method to
determine your keywords is to brainstorm at least 50
words then narrow down and focus on your content.
Misspell keywords if common misspellings are used by
newcomers in your industry. For example, Alta Vista, a
popular search engine is requently referred to as altavista or astavita. Do not
exceed the 1000 character limit used by most search
engines.
example : <meta name =
"keywords" content = "place, your,
site, keywords, here">
META
ROBOTS :
This metatag tells the search engine to not only
list the page you have submitted but to go ahead and
list ALL of your webpages at your domain.
If the content is changed to "noindex"
then only the page submitted will be indexed. example : <meta
name="robots"
content="index">
META
REVISIT :
This metatag tells the search engine to come back
and refresh your listing in 14 days. DO NOT
have them come back every day. Once or
twice per month is MORE than sufficient. example : <meta
name="revisit" Content="14
days">
