New free url shortening service kiwiurl.com
I just set up a new url shortening service called Kiwiurl.com.
This service will take long urls such as:
http://www.topsafesend.com/safelistpro/members/splash?memberid=yourid
And transform them to:
If you register, which is free, you also get stats on your new shortened url. You can see how many people clicked on your link and where they clicked from. All this is free. Many times if your url is too long it gets broken in links and your potential readers will never get to your website. Shorter and simpler is always better.
This service is free and the urls do not have any ads on them so you are not sending your visitors somewhere else.
Please give this new free service a try here and let me know what you think in the comments area of the blog.
Thank you!
Matthew Meyer

Excellent! Matt, for a long time I was searching on the internet for this mechanism. As you know the affilate links are too long and doesn’t conseal the affiliate username.
Great idea!!! Expecting more from you.
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for that it works great.
I have put the new short address in the box above.
Thanks again for the great tools.
Gary
Thanks Gary for giving it a try. I hope this works out well for everyone.

Thanks for the great post, its a great idea for sure to shorten the URL’s it almost looks like a New Zealand company with a name lke that. I use BudURL which is also excellant and gives lots of stats as well, I find the shortened URL’s really helpful for twitter and facebook. So thanks for sharing. Always good to learn more things

I find kiwiurl.com URL shorting service much much better and smartter than tinyurl’s service. Thank a lot for providing such a great service at no cost. Hope you will keep up introducing such things in future. Wish you good luck. Thanks.
kiwiurl.com is great. I can use a shortened link to send out an email or Tweet or use a traffic exchange, then literally watch the hits come in on the kiwiurl.com links statistics page. Thanks, Matthew, for this great free service.

Lenore

Nice, I started using this a while ago and it is working great.
Good initiative, Matt. Good for all of us!
However, would you answer 2 questions:
1. Why shouldn’t we proceed with using Tinyurl?
2. Can you give us ANY guarantee that you (Kiwiurl) will be there next year(s).
Thank you in advance for your reaction!
Regards,
Leo S.
Leo,
If you really want to do redirection I would use neither tinyurl.com or kiwiurl.com. Yes, I am de recommending my own service!
1. You only want to promote domains you own.
Get your own domain and hosting account then set up your own
redirection links. Yes, this is a little more complicated but your are using your own domain. You own it. Nobody can cancel your domain if they do not like you. Tinyurl.com and Kiwiurl.com will cancel your account at the first complaint. Why should we hassle with complaints from free customers?
Here is a redirect code:
http://www.instant-web-site-tools.com/html-redirect.html
You can also just get a domain from most domain registrars and set up redirect on your domain right from your control panel.
2.Url direction services get on blacklists which will put your emails directly in the trash bin of your prospects. Everyone is using these services. Somebody is going to mess up and spam. Even if the admins delete the accounts right away the urls will get on blacklists eventually. You can get off them but it is a pain.
If you are serious, get your own domain, and your web hosting accounts and do your own redirects. Nobody controls those links that you promote except you.
The free services are basically for people who have not learned, or do not want to hassle with doing everything I suggest.
I have no plans to disband Kiwiurl.com it is a nice traffic builder and costs next to nothing to run.
Good luck!
Matt
The one nice thing about the free services though is the stats. However, if you have a cpanel webhosting account you can get stats from the Webalyser section in your control panel. I know this is a bit advanced for some marketers but this is what I really believe is best.
Hey Matt,
You said: ‘Yes, I am de-recommending my own service!’
I could hardly believe my eyes – I saw seldom such a honest answer!! But you are right, indeed, and with your answer we all learned again some interesting things.
Sorry for my very late reaction. I’ve been ‘out’for a long time.
but it’s clear again: once on the net, you’re there forever!
Thanks and have a nice time!
Regards,
Leo S.
Hi Leo. Good to see you back!
